About Me
I’m in my late 40’s and live in Ferryhill, Co. Durham. I’ve been kicking around the Internet since about 1992. There wasn’t a World Wide Web then, just a cluster of text based pages that we could amaze our parents with. Being logged onto a computer in Argentina whilst only paying a local phone rate (there was no broadband either) was impossible to understand for them. Here we are, 17 years later, and things have moved on so much it’s untrue.
I’m interested in weather, photography, local history and the North East in general. I also do a fair bit of work as admin for The North East Forum . This began as the Ferryhill Forum, a discussion site for the town where I live. Because there weren’t too many people online then, I opened it up to cover the whole of the North East. We now have nearly 1,000 members.
One of my early efforts was to produce a website for my home town, Ferryhill. It’s looking a little dated now, but still allows people to view typical town scenes from afar. It’s called the Ferryhill Virtual Tour. I also maintain the website for the online version of our local Community Newspaper, The Ferryhill and Chilton Chapter.
Phew, it’s a busy life!
